A small group of MuSR source, instrumentation and science experts will be brought together with accelerator scientists with specific expertise in novel Fixed Field Alternating Gradient Accelerator R&D with the purpose of establishing:
(a) the optimal beam muon beam configurations and parameters for an ideal stand-alone next generation muon source,
(b) the proton driver and pion target configurations necessary to deliver these muon beam parameters and (c) whether FFAG accelerators are indeed the best and most cost-effective option for delivering the appropriate proton beam for what could be the world's first stand-alone muon facility.
The Workshop will be held in early 2008 and participation will be largely by invitation.
