Education and Training
Networking activities support schools, workshops and individual mobility

Neutron scattering and muon spectroscopy rely heavily on the integration of facilities and user community. Users have to be well trained and must be continuously educated to make the best out of existing neutron and muon infrastructure. Facilities must continuously adapt their instrumentation to the evolution of scientific questions.
Networking Activities have contributed to the integration process by providing support for training and education. This has been done in the form of financial contributions to schools and workshops as well as assistance to individual human mobility.

More than 400.000 euros will finally have been devoted to training activities.
8 call for proposals have provided support for 34 schools and 37 workshops, including the most prestigious European neutron and muon schools. An online evaluation reveals the high quality of these events: the attendees reported overwhelmingly (94%) that the activities met their expectations, describing them as very good (30%) and excellent (57%). The attendee profiles cover the full spectrum of researchers, from postgraduate students to postdoctoral researchers, and academics.

Any organizer of events helping Networking Activities to achieve its goal may apply for support via twice/year proposal rounds.
