Construction and Design Study proposals
There are no approved design studies relevant to neutrons and muons (however, there were three proposals, NEXT, UCONSAR, ADVICES). One major construction project has been approved: ISIS TS2. This will receive 11M€ and involves partners from UK, Italy, Spain.
|
Design Studies should continue into FP7 on a similar basis to FP6, but with an increased overall budget. |

EU perspective
There has been a very strong increase of budget dedicated to RIs throughout the different FPs and growing interrelations Research infrastructures - e-infrastructures. Support for RIs in FP7:
- to pursue, improve and reinforce the existing schemes.
- development of future research infrastructures of European interest. |

I3 perspective
The market for I3s is now saturated with most applicable scientific disciplines represented.
A European Road Map will be used for guidance by the EC to decide future funding and this will also help guide the construction of new infrastructures within the ERA. ESFRI may be responsible for developing the Road Map. |
