SINQ Web page	Scientific programme head at PSI: 17 January 1997 - Today, the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Villigen, Switzerland, formally inaugurates a $65 million neutron source that will help close one gap and bridge another. The first is the gap between supply and demand, as researchers clamor for access to neutron beams for research ranging from materials science to probing biological compounds. Info about the ICNS	Member of the International Advisory Committee: Professor Albert Furrer has been member or chariman of the Advisory Commitee of a long list of international neutron conferences. He has initiated the ECNS series (European Conference on Neutron Scattering) with ECNS'96 at Interlaken, Switzerland, with a record number of 700 participants, followed by ECNS'99 in Budapest, ECNS'03 in Montpellier and ECNS'07 in Malmö At present, he is one of the members of the International Advisory Committee of the next International Conference on Neutron Scattering to be held from 27 November to 2 December 2005 in Sydney, Australia
