The Neutron Round-Table
EC-TMR Concerted action on neutron sources

The thematic network on neutron and muon beam source is focused on the European aspect of the
activities in the field of neutron scattering and µSR spectroscopy.

The network will support activities, which is focused on:

* improving the quality and quantity of access to neutron and muon beams,
* widening the knowledge about the potential of neutron scattering,
* enhancing co-ordination, collaboration and complementarities between neutron scattering centres,
* building the scientific case and developing the neutron scattering instrumentation required to produce
a credible European proposal for a next generation neutron source, 
* involving facilities and users in the new associated states in the activities above. 

The round-table activities have been subdivided in four categories:

* Managing the round-table: round-table meetings with participants representing all key players in the field.
* Technical networking: technical workshops and mutual training activities.
* Training of new users: support participation by non-nationals in summer schools.  Hands on training courses
and preparation of educational material for university lecturers.
* The future of neutron scattering: meetings and workshops, dealing with novel instrumentation, new sources
and important developments in the field of neutron scattering and µSR spectroscopy.
